UUID Generator: what this tool is for
Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs), also known as Globally Unique Identifiers (GUIDs), are 128-bit identifiers standardized by RFC 4122. They allow distributed software systems, microservices, and databases to generate unique primary keys and transaction IDs independently without requiring a centralized coordinator authority.
Xorvian's UUID / GUID Generator produces RFC 4122-compliant Version 4 (cryptographically random) UUIDs in real time. Powered by your browser's native `crypto.randomUUID()` Web Crypto API with cryptographic hardware RNG fallback, generated UUIDv4 keys guarantee 122 bits of unpredictable entropy.
Customize output formatting with toggles for UPPERCASE letters, surrounding curly braces (`{...}`) for C# and Windows GUID compatibility, and compact non-hyphenated strings without dashes. Generate individual keys or produce bulk batches of up to 100 unique UUIDs simultaneously.
100% private, client-side, and free: UUID generation runs entirely within local browser memory without network logging, cookies, or database tracking.

What this tool gives you
Cryptographically Secure UUIDv4 Generation
Uses the native `crypto.randomUUID()` Web Crypto API for true 122-bit cryptographic randomness, virtually eliminating collision risk across distributed databases.
Customizable Quantity (1 to 100)
Generate single UUIDs or produce bulk batches of up to 100 unique identifiers simultaneously for database seeding, mock data, and unit tests.
Flexible Formatting Options
Toggle hyphens off (compact 32 hex chars), switch to UPPERCASE, and add optional curly braces (`{...}`) for C# and Windows GUID compatibility.
Instant One-Click Copy & .txt Download
Copy all generated UUIDs directly to your clipboard with one click, or export the full batch as a clean `.txt` text file.
RFC 4122 v4 128-Bit Unique Database Key Generation
All UUIDs are generated in local browser memory. Generated keys, identifiers, and test data are never sent to external servers.
Batch Generation Ready for SQL Seed Scripts
Perfect for software engineers configuring PostgreSQL primary keys, MongoDB ObjectIDs, API request IDs, and session tokens.

How to use UUID Generator
Set Desired Quantity
Enter the number of UUIDs you want to produce (from 1 up to 100) in the quantity field.
Configure Formatting Toggles
Enable 'UPPERCASE', 'Braces' (`{...}`), or 'Without dashes' according to your system requirements.
Click 'Generate UUIDs (v4)'
The freshly generated cryptographic UUIDs appear instantly in the results panel.
Copy All or Download .txt
Click 'Copy all' to transfer identifiers to your clipboard, or click 'Download .txt' to save the list to your computer.
Tips and mistakes to avoid
Why UUIDv4 Collision is Mathematically Impossible
With 2¹²² possible combinations (approximately 5.3 × 10³⁶), you would need to generate 1 billion UUIDs every second for 85 years to have a 50% probability of a single collision.
Use Native Database Types
In PostgreSQL, store UUIDs using the native `UUID` type (16 bytes) rather than `VARCHAR(36)` to save 55% disk space and boost indexing speed.
Compact UUIDs for Clean URLs
Enable 'Without dashes' to create 32-character compact alphanumeric strings suitable for clean public URL tokens.
Avoid : Using Insecure Random Generators (Math.random)
Older pseudo-random generators (`Math.random()`) have poor entropy and can collide; Xorvian exclusively uses cryptographic `crypto.randomUUID()`.
Avoid : Assuming UUIDv4 is Time-Sortable
Version 4 UUIDs are completely random and not sequential. If you need strictly sortable keys, consider ULID or UUIDv7.
Avoid : Case Sensitivity Mismatches in Databases
Ensure your application handles UUID string comparisons consistently in lowercase according to RFC 4122.
